ChessExpert offers chessboard recognition, FEN editing, engine analysis, PDF diagrams, training, saved positions and exercises. Website features are currently free. Features vary by platform, app version and device; not every web feature is available in a native app. Some work locally; others use cloud services. For help, email support@chessexpert.io. Separate app-store and external-service terms still apply.

The Google sign-in and merge options below describe the website and available embedded web interfaces. Native-app and extension profiles may be separate. Google sign-in is optional. A Firebase guest profile has an ID and can store study material. Losing that browser session may mean losing access. Connecting an unused Google account keeps the guest ID and records.

For an existing Google account, an empty guest can switch after a server check. The check is point-in-time: later records may stay with the guest. A guest with data can choose Merge data and continue or continue without merging. The selected account is retained; another Google confirmation is needed only for a missing or expired credential.

An explicit merge copies the initial set of supported positions, collections, exercises and progress, and transfers selected available history without overwriting Google study material. Later guest records stay with the guest. The source account and study records remain. An interruption may partly transfer history; retry with the same Google account.

PDFs, device-local progress, separate native-app profiles and pairing are excluded; not all data is guaranteed to migrate. If no merge is underway, you may confirm continuing without merging: guest records remain in the cloud, are not added to Google and may become inaccessible on this device. Finish uploads and merges in other tabs before switching.

The service relationship starts when you request a feature and we provide it, not simply by reading this page. You can stop using it at any time. Signing out, closing the page or starting a new guest profile does not delete cloud records. Uninstalling an app or extension or clearing browser or device storage does not by itself delete cloud uploads or records and may remove profile access. Statutory withdrawal rights and already accrued rights remain.

Use a supported browser or a compatible, updated mobile app with internet. Web features may need JavaScript, WebAssembly and web workers. Browser or device storage supports profiles and preferences. File, camera, photo, screenshot or extension permissions are needed only for relevant features. Protect profile access and avoid confidential or unrelated personal material.

Do not upload unlawful content, impersonate others, bypass security or disrupt services. Lawful defect reporting and statutory rights remain available.

You retain ownership and other rights. Provide only material you are entitled to use, respecting copyright and privacy. You grant nonexclusive permission to process, store and display it only as necessary for requested services, including through our providers.

We store uploaded photos for recognition and related application features. We do not publish them in a public gallery. Database recognition and study records are restricted to their owner or authorized administrators. PDF download rules allow the owner and authorized administrators. Do not treat this as confidential document storage.

There is no fixed automatic expiry. Data requests are handled manually, not by automatic email, export or erasure. See the Privacy Policy for retention, providers and requests. Optional analytics requires a separate choice; accepting these Terms does not grant analytics consent, and rejection leaves chess features available.

Recognition, engine results and exercises can be wrong. Check the position, including orientation, side to move and castling rights. These are study aids, not guaranteed results. Maintenance, faults and provider outages can interrupt service.

We may make necessary legal, security or compatibility changes or proportionate restrictions against misuse. Where practicable, we will explain material interruptions in advance and offer alternatives; restrictions can be challenged through complaints.

Email support@chessexpert.io with the feature, problem and requested resolution; do not send passwords or unrelated documents. We reply by email or another agreed durable medium. Where applicable consumer law requires it, we respond within 14 days unless another statutory rule applies. Other enquiries are handled without undue delay. You may use statutory remedies without first complaining to us.

ChessExpert is currently free to use. These Terms do not take away rights you have under applicable law or exclude responsibility that the law does not allow us to exclude. You can contact us about a problem and use any legal remedies available to you.

Polish law applies, while any mandatory consumer protections in the country where you normally live remain in place where applicable.

We may update these Terms when laws, security needs, technical requirements or app features change. We will update the date at the top of this page. The new version applies to future use and does not change rights you already have or give us new rights over material you uploaded earlier.

We will let you know in advance about significant changes affecting your ongoing use. Where the law requires it, we will send a notice you can keep, such as an email, and ask for your agreement. You can stop using ChessExpert at any time.
